Best Blender For $50

I'd pay a bit more if there was a significant difference in quality between a $50 and a higher-priced model, but would preferably like to stay just around that price point, if possible. Feel free to mention any price point, tho', if you think that one shouldn't buy any less.

What I'm wanting to do is simple (make sauces, etc), but I know I'll more likely than not wish I would have paid for the "extras" once I get the blender. So is there a great quality, do-it-all blender that you guys can recommend for around $50 bucks?

Have read about the BlendTec (the type used at Starbucks, etc), but don't think I'll ever have a need for such a professional blender - just want something simply, nothing really over the top. So any recommendations you guys can throw this way would be great.

Thanks.
