Re: can anyone here identify this worm?
thanks. i wasn't saying that i think it's a tapeworm. they appear to me to be more like a fluke of some kind with a tail. if you look at the picture again, and look at the right tip of the worm, you can see that the last inch or two of this worm is larger in circumference/diameter than the rest of the worm. when the specimen was fresh, this segment was actually much larger than it appears in the picture, looking much like the sketch in pic 2.
again, pic 2 is a sketch of what the worm in pic 1 looked like one week prior. so really, i am looking for an id on the worm depicted in pic 2. pic 1 is what happens to the worm in the sketch after a week of decomposition.
i have not seen a picture of a roundworm that matches what is shown in my sketch.
at a quick glance, pic 1 does look like a roundworm. but if you look at the right side, you can see the enlarged segment.
this is what that enlarged part looked like a week prior.
but it also had that long tail by which everyone sees and says 'roundworm'.
but the strange fluke like body must be considered. again. pic 2, 'the sketch'.
