Re: Finished Fast this eve - 54 lbs gone
Hi ALB, thanks for your post. Here are some answers for ya!
"Lots of them. This was water only fast? From how much you went down it sounds like it had to be. Did you take any supplements ,drink anything other than water, do any exercise. If you were on water how did you have any energy to get out of bed at least the first while?"
I drank mainly filtered tap water using a Pur water pitcher filter. Also I like fizz in my drinks so I went with seltzer when I felt like a change. On days I felt dizzy or sick I took 32
oz. of 0 calorie Powerade Zero because I was working out for about 30 mins a day and felt the electrolytes would do me some good. I never drank anything containing calories, and have no issues with artificial sweeteners.
I did not take any vitamins or supplements because taking pills on an empty stomach makes me feel sick. As always my energy levels were LOW for the first week then gradually went back to normal. I slept a lot during that first week, which is normal for me.
"If this was water only how much additional water did you drink? didn't you get very faint and dizzy when walking around if this was just water?"
I drank between 40 and 80
oz. of water each day on average. I felt light headed sometimes but nothing major. I never fainted or anything.
"Did you do any prefast?
What is your post fast refeeding and stategy to keep the weight off. Some is normal on refeeding of course."
I fasted here and there for a few weeks before doing this and had several false starts. On this particular fast I went straight from eating complete junk food to fasting. As I remember, my last bite of food was ice cream hahaha yuck :P
My plan now is to drink juice and slowly incorporate fruits and veggies into my diet. I am very antsy and a bit nervous about eating anything solid and don't want to screw up and get sick. I will be posting more about my refeeding soon so keep a look out for that.
I have been reading your progress since you started your fast. Switching to juice was probably a wise choice. I am looking forward to news on your progress.
Be well!
