yes--and the temperature in that time is enough for almost anyone to 'give up the ghost'. If he lets the egg get exposed for seconds, unwarmed, the unhatched chick dies.

I saw this. the males are literally on 'their last legs' waiting for the return of the females--The females also near death, from exhaustion... Anyone who thinks this "natural world" is charming,or something to master has got it quite wrong. What is clear is that it runs on some kind of amazing unfathomable compassion. And doing the right thing, as much as possible, within the consciousness level one inhabits.

mind-boggling. I only wish humans did as much, wiht theior 'free will' ideas. we are so indulgent.
