Of course, yours is a personal decision to make about your statin meds, but if I was having the muscle pains and the such, I would quit them.
I inherited my mothers death genes as I call them. Here are some links regarding my quest to lower my TG's:

I recently had my labs drawn in Jan 2006 and my TG were 235 and my Cholesterol was 240. These are wonderful numbers for me and my history. I plan to continue flushing about 4 times a year with the seasonal changes.

PS, have you noticed on the ads for the statin meds it says "has not proven to reduce the incidence of heart attack or stroke". When I read those words and my liver was screaming at me, I quit them then and there.
