I'm not sure about the plastic all I've ever seen it in is glass but maybe it is some high grade plastic that would remain inert because all the halogens are very reactive and Lugols contains elemental iodine. Were it just Iodide then plastic would be fine.

Lugols should never be left open or the Iodine will evaporate out into thin air reducing its strength.
