Re: breathing trouble

Diana, I went through something like this about seven years ago. Where I became very aware of my breathing, and felt a lot of "air hunger". I actually had some tests done and was diagnosed with COPD!which immediately deeply depressed me, since the outcome of that is gradual decline...

I strated to feel this very deep sense of the preciousness of breath, In truth, it is the only thing we 'own', and between one breath and the next is where in meditation one can experience this profound release of everything else; all the burdens of family responsibility and the world speeding up... all that stuff. Which is not to say it's all bad, but we almost never get to appreciate the kind of rest tht can come from simply watching the breath, and resting on it, as it were.

Tummo takes some amazing focus. (Not something I can do, though I've had brief spontaneous moments of it. I was saying to Spud that I'd like to learn, in order to be able to be comfortable in winter.) There is one place in Nepal I think, where annually, the nuns there do a public practise of their abilities, and families will bring kids to watch.) I have read it described and can vividly see them. It is bitterly cold, and they walk with just white sheets wrapped around them. After a certain time, the more advanced practitioners will soak sheets, so they are just near ice, and then, with the steam of their bodies, dry them again.
This goes on for a whole day and night. All this time, walking in silence. They are not putting on a show as much as they are demonstrating self-transcendance. No limits. Imagine! I find it a very inspiring vision, if ever I, as a woman, feel that feeling you describe of the no sleep and the breath being lacking. Itmakesme feel storng just to know they are 'out there'. They don't so all this just for themselves but pray that what they do will serve all others in their liberation. Yes, the mind is amazing. :-)

My breathing is fine now, btw. I went back to that doctor for a 'second opinion', and asked for a new X-ray, and on this one they said there is no sign of anything like COPD. They could not explain it. I had previously asked if COPD could ever be reversed, and was told no--this was like a death sentence, but after awhile, I decided I wasn't going to accept it.(I was very fortunate to have had/met some good teachrs to guide and inspire me, as to what is possible.) So, the MD showed me the previous X-ray where there had been a "shadow", they verified it was mine, not just an error, and this shadow was supposedly THE classic marker. No explanation as to what had happened. But I don't need one, from them. Your experience can 'mark' the beginning, if you will, of a whole new way of being. It's like a good first step to guarding your breath, which IS precious, and having your breath become your teacher.

I would stongly recommend EFT for dealing with the emotional (fear) aspects that can accompany the odd sensations you have touched on here. You actually sound a lot like me, back then. I was minerally-depleted, had been through a very traumatic period of a few years of grieving, and so on. Adrenals low, lack of iodine, lack of good Sea Salt (just a pinch in a glass of water made me feel instantly better). Like you, I studied a lot, read a lot, always felt I had too many things going on to sort them out. All that is behind me now. I've now retired my doctor. Have not seen her in seven years. And feel better than I have in many years, mainly through taking good Sea Salt , kelp, blackstrap molasses, lemon water, magnesium and lots of green leafy vegetables and good oils, such as coconut.
Oh--and lots of kombucha and cultured vegetables I make. The basic are nutient-dense food, and cleansing. No meat, but some fish like wild salmon and sardines. I usually eat one meal a day, whereas for years I would be shaky with low blood sugar, and always needing small meals. I've also done a number of Water Fasts which I do not reccomend as a first step for most people, ( and I would urge anyone to do lots of reading of the Natural Hygiens masters before embarking on one),but for me, they have been a huge blessing. Like most people,I grew up beleiving a person would die (or be seriously injured)if they fasted for more than say three of four days. I get stronger and healthier with each one,and will soon do another.

All best to you. I think it is really far simpler than we know. (though we have to stop taking drugs, vaccines and so on) And much of it is quivkly addressable with EFT and/or meditation, imv.
