Re: Reduce Placebo Effect in Clinical Drug Trials $25,000 reward
you know, this is actually far less utterly 'silly' than it looks to a thinking person: I mean, it's more scarily indicative of the death-thrashes of the gigantic machine, and the lengths to which it will go to to protect its intertests at any expense. Eugenics would not look out of place in this discussion.
"Biomarkers predictive of placebo responders or new methods of trial design and trial procedure are desired."
That makes Gattica (film)look appealing--a nostalgic look back. Light summer fare.
"placebo-responders". I always felt the concept of "placebo" was itself absurd--now I see the bigger setup;it's not only foolish, it's the pre-construction of a police state as it were, built upon funda-mental untruth.
One grand "biomarker", to use this apalling language, (notice how we are mentally well-prepared with the cancer industries' professional-speak of "markers" denoting something "bad" and fearful)might manifest as your basic resistance to drugs, or to chemo. Or to good old hot dogs and ballparks, or, God Forbid, to fireworks that mimic (and entrain people to welcome) displays of "firepower".
It would be funny if it weren't actually the (old)new order. Crept up, didn't it? Now it's actually going mainstream.
