What kind of eye problem is this?

I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me diagnose and possibly treat my eye problem. I've had it for quite some time now (4-5 years) and am really becoming annoyed with it.

The vision in my right eye is perfectly fine but my left eye gets very blurry. Its usually fine after sleeping or resting it for awhile but when I start focusing on something like a book, TV or computer screen the blurryness gradually starts to manifest. Once it starts the longer I focus on something the more blurry it gets and after hours of focus the eye starts feeling fatigued and a slight stinging sensation starts to develop as well.

I kind of think it could be related to dry eye disease cause if I've just been crying or have a yawn attack or something that causes my eyes to tear up the vision quickly returns back to perfect for awhile. Artificial tears or visine drops improve things a little bit but not nearly as dramatic. I'm not convinced it is dry eye though since it only happens in the one eye and it never actually FEELS dry, I honestly can't notice any difference in lubrication at all from my right eye.

I did see an eye doctor about this a couple years ago and was told there was no problem and my vision was 20/20. I tried to explain to her that its a gradual thing and I need to focus on something for a period of time before the blurryness kicks in but she was really impatient and made me go through all the tests as quickly as possible. After that I pretty much gave up on getting any help and figured I would just try to live with it.

Anyway the problem did get a little better after I quit smoking cigarettes + marijuana + switched to a vegan diet but over the last few months it now seems to be worsening again.

Any ideas?
