Re: Dr. Bailey: mom & dd dealing with pinworms and parasites
Dear ShakitLady,
Weaning is a very personal matter. You are indeed in a tough position right now because medically speaking, you do need treatment and so does your daughter. But from one Mother to another...I know how hard it is to cut the ties, so to speak, and wean your baby.
I do not think you are dealing with pinworms. I think you are dealing with strongyloide or hookworm roundworms. Both are in the roundworm "family", but your symptoms lean more towards strongyloides or hookworms than pinworms.
Hookworms can cause cysts on the feet. They can also cause fatigue and anemia.
Strongyloides can cause cysts all over the body as they have the ability to travel just under the skin when they are larvae. This might be what compromised your leg vein.
Pinworms only affect the anus...they do not travel to the head area nor to the feet.
I also think that yes, you have been infected since you were a child and the initial infection was not addressed. When you do wean we can do something to help.
