BV is less about the man and more about the woman. The man who causes BV for you has semen that disrupts the flora in your vagina, and the bad bacteria take over. Simply using a condom would make this issue go away.

If one takes a woman who has BV, and you take a sample of the BV from the woman who has it, and place it into a woman who doesn't have it, the 2nd woman won't get the BV.

It could be the alkaline nature of a man's semen that causes the imbalance of the flora, as the vagina is normally an acidic environment, and some men's semen is more alkaline than others.
