Storing , Transporting Oleander

Just a quick question too Luella & Tony , in your experience can one pick the leaves and pack in zip lock bags and box them up and transport for say three or four days ? or should they be frozen (dry ice or in a cooler) for the travel period?
I've cut or trimmed the plants in the past and they would sit in the hot sun for days before I bagged and threw in the trash ....there seemed to be some minor wilt but kinda like a juniper still showed green , with some browning....just wondering if I could cut and store in ziplocks and then haul several bags from Calif to Missouri (2 maybe 3 days travel time) would keep out of sun.....I would then put the bags in freezer except for the one I cook off , that way I could get a good 6 or 8 month supply for pennies. Any putrification possible or has this been done before?
Any input helpful.....Thanks.....Rick
