That is a different subject all together. I gave up years ago trying to tell people how to help themselves.
When I was diagnosed with DCSI at age 26, uninformed, I let the doctors take my breast off to "save my life". The hard lesson I learned was that I should have educated myself first. After the fact learned that DCIS is a benign cancer that never spreads and is so common that most woman have it at one time or another. It comes and goes. Yes I paid a price but I refused to let another doctor mame me.
That is why, now, at the age of 41, I spend hours pouring over ways to help myself and my family and have been helped beyond words can say.
My phone call would be perceived as some whacko calling. That I am 100% sure of. I am not being mean when I say too bad for her, I just feel that we are all responsible for our own health and if she really wanted another opinion, we all have the internet at our fingertips.
