Re: Had to take a break from the Candida Cleanse
I hope I can ease your mind somewhat. A true allergy would cause immediate and severe reactions as soon as you eat only little bits of something that can trigger an allergy.
What you experience is probably an allergic cross-reaction. As you are allergic to grasses, trees, weeds, etc., you will experience such cross-reactions very often with your simple intake of food. It's unfortunately quite often the healthy stuff that triggers these reactions, things like fruits, vegetables etc. It's worse when they are raw; when cooked it should be less discomforting.
Right now, I'm in the same situation as you are. I'm in the middle of the candida cleanse - and it gives me a pretty hard time. And as you, I'm allergic to all sort of grasses, trees and weeds, as well as to dustmites. This in itself is not a big problem, when touching certain grasses or trees, I get an itchy skin and sometimes skin rashes. Not a real problem. The problem starts when I eat certain types of food. Because they contain proteins very similar to the stuff I'm allergic to, my body reacts with an allergic reaction, meaning cramps, diarrhea, dizziness and heaps of other symptoms. Now, when doing the candida cleanse, I can't tell which symptoms arise from the cleanse and which are simply an allergic cross-reaction. I try ignore it as best as I can, but it truly is pretty tough right now.
If you don't know much about this type of allergies, it may help you to learn more about it, so as to be able to attribute symptoms to the correct "culprit".
A quick search on Google didn't show any really useful results in the English language, so you might have to spend a bit more time on it than I did just now.
For once, concerning this topic, it's easier to find comprehensive information in German rather than English. Usually it's exactly the other way round.
