Matt: I would suspect that the most recent lab is relying on microscopic detection. The problem is that if the lab cannot positively identify a suspect parasite then you are going to get a negative. MM uses pcr which looks for dna matches, in their literature they can find dna markers that would identify a suspect protozoa but cannot identify it if they cannot match the entire dna sequence. Tweet
