Rinsing with water then placing them in a bag and blowing ozone in the bag will destroy any herbicide and pesticide residue as well as destroy any fungus and bacteria that can spoil fruits and vegetables. Ozone also extends the shelf life by destroying the ethylene gas that ripens them.
For most fruits and vegetables you can also use dilute peroxide or bleach to soak them for 10-15 minutes them rinse well and let the surfaces dry before storage.
