iodine, selenium and zinc

http://news.xinhuanet.com/english2010/indepth/2010-09/16/c_13514934.htm

"The favorable environment may contribute to the residents living longer as well. A study by the Jiangsu Provincial Institute of Geological Survey showed that per kilogram of soil contained an average of 3.3 milligrams of iodine, 57.3 milligrams of zinc and 0.047 milligrams of selenium, generally higher than other regions."

In a totally unrelated story I am pictured here inserting Pb into the Texas soil Friday afternoon.
