Re: Curing Depression.....NEED advice!
Midge,
I found that site this summer--there's no way to read it all. LOL It also did NOT fix my depression. But it DID get me ready for the liver flush. And if it's simply a lack of magnesium, that would be SUPER!
MOre good news: 6-9 months is not such a long
Depression that he can't get over it.
What you really already know: The lesson to be learned is his, and you can only support him. My husband has lived with a depressed person off and on for over 11 years (ME). He would love to be able to 'fix' me. He wanted a pill to be an answer. It wasn't FOR ME. In fact, it really messed me up worse. So it goes.
You might want to go to my post on the
Depression Alternative Forum. (I think I called it "cracking the egg of depression) I think you know the basics though. Liverflushing, kidney cleansing, Change of diet, exercise, and 'think a happy thought'.
Depression has SO many possible causes.
Hey, I think it's really cool he is interested in trying it alternatives. If he had an alternative/integrative doctor to work with, or a naturepath, or someone to guide him, that would be wise.( Are you too close to the situation to be that FOR him? And how bad is the depression? How committed is he to trying? Is he quitting the anti-depressants cold turkey? There is SO much to consider, and he needs to be wise, as do you.
Also, you can't imagine how many "well meaning friends" have told me "Oh, anti-depressants are SO great. Why do you do all this stuff. Just take the pills". Anti-depressants should be considered a 'crutch'--and they come with their own drawbacks. In my own case, the THOUGHT of doing them again is a nightmare revisited. But I won't make any "blanket" statements. I'm not done with my own battle yet, and until the victory is won, I can only tell about the battles.
Have fun
Liver Flushing together! Wish I could get my husband interested in this 'stuff'.
peace and joy,
Paula
