you are correct. i suspect that most iodiners are not masochists. plus, its hard to go to work with a splitting headache.

i dont think anything we do to alleviate detox symptoms actually interferes with the action of Iodine and some actually assist. the salt push, for example, simply prevents bromide from clogging the kidneys so the process of elimination can continue. this actually helps the actions of Iodine along in the body and symptoms are relieved by doing so. OTOH vit C, i am convinced, helps to reduce elemental Iodine to soften its action. this is particularly helpful when taking Lugols due to the strong I2 in it.

the best course of action with any detox from iodine is to take an even bigger dose. that really helps move things along. the problem is rarely too much iodine, its not enough.
