Re: Weight plateau - whazzup?

For the third day in a row I have lost no weight. I'm still in ketosis, so I know fat is being burned.

Hi Puppy,

With those words you have captured it. Since you're absolutely burning fat, it really doesn't matter what the scale says. I would say it can only be a temporary water retention issue in the amount which happens to offset the weight of the fat you are most certainly burning.

Since I am on the fast primarily for health reasons I am not so concerned with the weight, but would like to know why it happens.

As to the why of it, there i can't help you :).

On day 27 I'm now planning for a Friday evening to begin breaking the fast -- probably Sept 24th on day 43. I've decided against going through it all the way to hunger.

Though i believe completion to be the ultimate Gem in fasting, i too have decided against that in my 2 most recent long fasts since there is no telling how long it might take and i wanted to err on the side of relative caution reaching 30 then 36.5 days and taking the opportunity between nausias (nausiae?) to break while feeling pretty good.

I will celebrate with blueberries and Watermelon -- it'll be the best durned fruit I will ever taste in all my life!!! :-)

I'm excited for you just thinking about it :).
