The "plants" are a community effort..

still puzzling over what the gut plants I
see every day in the turdles..

uncountable numbers of tiny "shoots/sprouts"..
that apparently grow very quickly.
[OR..perhaps they don't grow all that quickly..but
are anchored in the gut lining and tend to break off
in 20/30mm lengths..]

they are a composite..
some type of slime [biofilm?]
...the morg fibers, which can be seen
under the slime layer..
.and the "clear gel"
columns that look very much like the gel "roots"
that form under the morg scabs.
