Reactivity explained in basic chemistry terms

This constitutes the basic basics of much of what is discussed here.

Here is a classic post by V, now labeled 'user x' in basic chemistry as regarding nascent iodine.

Since nascent Iodine is 99% grain alcohol (Ever Clear)is it not possible that the 'charged' effects might be from the liquor? Just a few drops of Ever Clear is enough to feel something. The 1% elemental Iodine content is many times weaker than Lugols lending it a 'detoxified' effect but in my opinion only due to the dilution.
Any environmental engineer will tell you, "The solution to pollution is dilution. It applies to any environment, the entire earth or just your body.
Stamping 'Cayce' on something does not give it a pass on the scrutiny of the scientific method.
I can make a 1 ounce tincture of 1% Iodine and 99% grain alcohol for 32 cents. The liquor is the major cost.

I am not sure I have a full grasp of this so any input is welcome, just back it up with more than opinion.
