Re: ? about newborn with candida please answer smarties.. thats you dvjorge & cheshire77 lol
I have always heard that when one person in the family has a yeast infection they should use separate towels for the shower and be careful if breast feeding or having sexua| intercourse. I have always been very careful when I have an infection so I have been lucky to never directly pass one along.
My sons gastroenterologist prescribed him FlorastorKids by biocodex. It's a probiotic specifically formulated for kids and in a powder form so it could be given to a baby in a bottle. Of course, I would check with the pharmacist to be sure it's not to potent for a baby. It contains frutcose 472 mg, Saccharomyces boulardii lyo 250 mg, lactose 33 mg
Since I am prone to yeast infections after antiobiotics while pregnant I try to give my 7 and 8 year old boys probtiotics premptively so they don't run into problems later. I was apparently born with thrush as well and I wonder whether since having that infection as a baby and not being treated as a child made it easier for me to have problems with yeast now.
We also eat yogurt daily.
