Re: skin fiber harvest..bumper crop too!

..a "fer real" Woods lamp not in my budget..
making do with UV leds in a flashlight configuration..
it's hillbilly..but it at least gives me SOME uv vision.
...suspect I do need to go a bit deeper into the UV spectrum..400nm seems a bit too close to the border of
"visible light"...maybe 385nm would be more effective...

light i'm using cost me all of eight dollars..
all metal..had it about a year now..no complaints.

..need to work on getting a better UV light imager.
the Celestron camera tries hard..but it's obviously not
optimized for UV imaging. Tickle it with just a little
bit too much UV..and it shifts to an overdriven red.
It can't see what I see; the fluorescent light colors
that I am seeing..it does not..[I see a vivid dark blue..
camera sees a sort of washed out sorta' blue..but mostly
whites and reds.] Camera does not quite know how to deal
with 400nm light. Suspect the "aliasing" of color will get
worse with a "deeper UV" iluminator.

UV flashlight very useful for finding fibers ..
pulled a fiber out of the inside of lower eyelid..another
across the cornea of right eye today. Sparkle 'em with UV and they go bright blue..easy to find..[the really thin white threads can be a bear to find in normal light]

Some beard follicles on face will glow red/orange..the follicles with morg goo in them. Pretty ones sport a tiny blue morg fiber in a bed of orange. This effect only seems
to occur on the face. [beard follicles are larger?..more goo?] One can extract a beard hair sitting on a uv orange
spot..and find the goo sticking to the hair.
Turn UV lamp off..goo is white. Turn UV on..goo is
red/orange. Quite entertaining, actually...
