What causes our misery?

Just wanted to present an inferential question: Is there a genetic connection for those who have bad candida symptoms? It would be interesting to study. I'm bringing it up because I have had to battle candida symptoms now for about 15 years (recurring vaginal yeast infections, smelly gas, pastey bowel movements, general dysbiosis). My sister (5 years younger) now is aware that she has similar symptoms, and her almost year old breast fed baby is battling thrush and dysbiosis too. My mother suffered from what in her time was called ulcerative colitis, and would probably now be labeled as chrones disease. She had most of her small intestine removed and all of her large, and lived the last 20 years of her life with a bag attached to her stomach and an illiostomy. She also had an agressive case of Rheumatoid Arthritis . I'm not contesting the fact that candida exists here, just how and whom it gets its "hold" on. Is it the candida that causes the poor immune system, or a genetic predisposition towards having a poor immune system that causes the person to react to candida? Would love to hear what you all think.
