It seems that for a short while after the explosion, that started to become a topic of interest, but it was quickly declared off limits by 'someone in charge'.



If you look at the bottom of the NYT article, you'll see that the debris became a very sensitive subject to "someone in charge".

Debris has been found, but it is still an "off limits" topic in the media.

Maybe the debris also included debris from a North Korean mini-sub or a torpedo, but the whole area in the BP oilcam always seemed sanitized to me, not even the words on the blowout equipment had a scratch on them.

...and what happened to all the SWAT teams that were deployed?
