Here's an interesting post from Trapper. Sums up receptor sensitization nicely. The take-home message for you might be, if you start noticing any increased side effects from the birth control hormones that you didn't have previously, it might be because of increased action due to iodine. You might need an adjustment at that time. But that would have to do with iodine making them work better, not with interfering.
my vit A poisoning episode proved to me that the receptors in my body were fully functioning and full. absorption from diet was more than adequate. being fully iodinated made it so that i was fully sufficient in A and i would imagine D. just another separate reason why "lack of Iodine in the body promotes cancer" (dr brownstein). so when it comes to vit d, iodine is necessary. when it comes do normal cell apoptosis, iodine is necessary.
soon i will need a daisy to pluck petals while i recount the many ways iodine helps prevent and treat cancer. no cancer protocol should be without it.
use extreme caution in anyone taking hormones and beginning iodine. overdose is likely, whether with vit D, birth control pills, insulin... you name it. i would even worry about phytoestrogens and xenoestrogens. iodine might possibly make them have more of an effect too.
