Re: Is there any side effects at all?
There are at least a couple of ways to think about salt. One is to use it regularly for adrenal support, and another is to use it to clear symptoms of bromine detox. For adrenal support, I use salt daily with 3 quarts of water, 1/2 teaspoon in the morning and 1/4-1/2 teaspoon in the afternoon. This has been of tremendous benefit for me.
But if you're interested in salt for symptom relief only, then you can do the salt-loading protocol just for that, and stop until the next time you need it. Some people rarely, if ever, need it, if they can get enough symptom relief from taking iodine breaks. Others need just one "dose" of salt water to clear their detox, while still others need salt water several times in a row before they feel better. It's a very personal response.

Bromide Detox Strategies
1. Salt Loading.
2. Stopping iodine for 48 hours to rest the kidneys.
3. Reducing the iodine dose temporarily, then working back up.
4. Taking several grams vitamin C spread out throughout the day along
with the Iodine Companion Nutrients.
5. Drinking more water.
6. Pulse-dosing (stopping and restarting iodine therapy.)
7. According to Iodine users with skin symptoms, adding 25 mg zinc often
helps.
Iodine-related bromide symptoms may include but are
not be limited to:
eye lid twitching

mouth and tongue sores and cuts or "sore mouth"
"different" acne,"bromide acne," "acne-like eruptions" without "coniform."
(Some iodine users found zinc helps bromide acne.)
