Re: Sarcasm
"Then why even joke about it? Why is that even funny?" It's not funny, one iota. It is completely demeaning, belittling, and humiliating and, I suspect, the tip of the proverbial iceburg. It sounds all too familiar to this Survivor.
Not to be nosy, but why have you NOT slept in the same bed for a long time? What's the reason behind this? As for nursing your daughter, what does that have to do with your relationship with this person? Feeding an infant is a part of Life and living, and this shouldn't have a detrimental effect on a healthy relationship. Are you bound to this person by a contract of marriage? How long had you been in a relationship with this person prior to your daughter being born?
There's so much more information that is relavent to the dynamics of what you're describing that I, personally, can't really comment without just a bit more history of this relationship. With what you have described, it sounds like an absence of healthy communication and interaction, at the very least. Ending any long-time friendship because a partner demands it or causes it is a screaming, flapping, waving RED FLAG, and other red flags might define themselves over a course of objective examination of this relationship.
