Scabies from hell

I have been in torturous hell for 8 months!!! Solid. I have thrown $4000+ away on docs and meds and gas and water and electricity to keep every single thread of fabric that can fit in the washer & dryer in constant rotation.

I have done everything I know/have learned to do, in an attempt to find some relief. As I sit here and write my dog is in a crate crying and panting because he is as miserable as I am. He didn't give it to me. I think I gave it to him. Human scabies and animal scabies cannot **Complete Their Lifecycle** on the wrong host but they CAN **still** burrow under the skin of the wrong host and live for 3 days before dying on their own - HOWEVER, if the right host is in close proximity to the wrong host, then the right host can supply the wrong host with a new crop of Satan's spawn on a daily basis.

I tried OTC Nix, Tea Tree Oil, Olive Oil, Permethrin 5%, Crotamiton, Ivermectin, menthol (don't try that on your crotch!), decapitating bumps with a Lady Bic, you name it. I did achieve a cure, but within a day or two would be re-infested. I threw out my bras as they seemed to be able to find safety during the HOT water wash (even boiling), and triple time high heat dry. Found nothing but bras with boobs already inside them at the stores - which is very pillow-like and seemed to me to be a breeding ground for microscopic vermin. I passed on the pre-populated bras and opted for a nursing bra instead. Who cares, as long as it's not lacy or padded. Picked up some new undies, bought some shorts and cheap T-shirts and several pairs of PJ's ($400 all told) so I would have enough clothes that I would not have to wear the same things within at least 7 days since the last wearing. NOPE. Didn't work! Yay me.

Went back to the doc and B nurse told me she was going to report me to the authorities if I ever came back! Not kidding! You wouldn't believe the BS one has to put up with to cure a so called "common" public health problem! Well maybe you would. I reported docs A & B to the Board of Medical Examiners for incompetence that prolonged my agony and allowed them time to breed. I have yet to file a complaint against nurse propriety. Just what "authority" is she going to rat me out to??? The scabie police?

I bought mite protectors for the mattresses and pillows, new sheets so I can have a different set for every day of the week - and I am one broke Injun, and sheets are not cheap!

I vacuumed every carpet, rug, couch, chair, and even the dog! (not really the dog, but I thought about it). I mopped every floor with bleach water and wiped down counters, toilets, sinks, showers and even the walls with bleach water. I bought a different scrub brush for showering each day. If anyone even so much as looked at a towel or a shirt it went in the hamper and wash immediately.

Then in month 7 the dog began to act as miserable as I felt. I had to quarantine him for his own good and mine.

I started to think maybe it wasn't scabies. There is no way they could live through all this, I thought. I bought a big jug of bug spray (indoor) and sprayed the carpets. Let it dry and vacuumed it. I sprayed the dirty clothes before the hot water double dose detergent, fabric softener, and triple time high heat dry in the dryer. I boiled my husbands filthy hat - ended up throwing it away YUK! Dudes can be so gross.

After spraying the carpets with bug spray, I did notice a decrease in bites. Then a surge, then a decrease. I continue to spray every 3 days and lube myself up with tea tree oil after every shower. Then the A/C in this sorry rental we moved to, incidentally, just before the misery began, went out. I went to check the filter and it was filthy. I bought an expensive filter which was white and put it in place. TWO days later the A/C was still not cooling and I began to wonder if I inserted it backwards and went to check it out. It was FILTHY. IN TWO DAYS!!! I bought another filter and am afraid to see how nasty it is two weeks later.

I started to wonder if it could be the worst case of dust mites on the planet. I am allergic to dust mites - they make my nose run and cause me to have sores in my nose, which, incidentally, I have had sores in my nose since moving to this hell house. I know dust mites can cause irritation, but can they get in your skin, cause arced wheels/whelts/whelps/hives, and bumps?

The arced whelts and S shaped whelts led me back to believing scabies to be the culprit. Back to square one.

I did have a break through idea. I started putting my clothes in the freezer. Not only was this awesome in light of a busted A/C in 100 degree weather while suffering scabies that feast on you when you are hot, but it kills them DEAD (24 hrs is the preference, but 12 will do in a pinch). I wish I could watch them croak! I have isolated most them but still pick them up from this environment which is where I believe they originated from. Actually everyone and everything is suspect, at this point.

The ER doc, yes, one quack sent me to the ER for this, it just keeps getting more and more ridiculous, but the ER doc said that he doubted it was scabies (middle of the day=no visible symptoms) and his main reason for this was that almost 100% of the patients he sees with scabies are homeless. REWIND, back up the truck, time out, what did he say? HOMELESS.

I ran into a homeless guy downtown who wanted some change. I gave him some. He wanted a cigarette. I gave him one. He wanted a light. I gave him one. Mistake #1 was accepting the lighter back from him, which I stuffed in my coat pocket. He wanted a fist bump. I gave him one. (the firetrucks are comin up around the bend...) Someone here said no good deed goes unpunished. Ain't THAT the gospel truth.

My lease is up soon and there is no way I will renew. I am dumping my furniture and majority of clothing at the city dump and starting over in a new home.
