Fasting for Kidney relief help with infection

Hi. I have seen in a few places that you should not fast if you have kidney disease. I recently found that I have mild kidney disease. GFR is at stage 2. I had an infection last year that had to be treated with Antibiotics but felt it never recovered although told so.

I have fasted before but had some problems after and havent gotten to the point where I could do a long fast again.

Can someone tell me what fasting does to the kidneys that one should be aware of? Secondly, since my blood pressure is borderline high I thought this would be very beneficial. I saw one place on the net that said people with kidney disease should only juice fast.

Thank you for any thoughts on this.
