Re: OMG this lady is good.
"When you suggest to the subconscious that the body does not feel pain, or that the body is free of disease, the subconscious may actually bring about the change."
Some people have a strong aversion to hypnosis, perhaps related to a wish to keep something away from the cosncious mind-- this can be a life-saving strategy, in fact, as it seems to keep the person "safe" from harm. There are always elegant ways that the entire bodymind system seeks to survice.
For people who don't like the idea of trance or hypnosis, and who don't have negative baggage with "God",
this is a really nice conscious way to increase one's sense of safety, and also, can help people with panic, strange hormonal states (where you can feel like you are leaving the body) and with the effects of say, quitting smoking--which can feel positively 'druglike', as the system rebulds itself. Basically, it's GREAT for when you feel trapped in the body, or you identify so much with it, that it causes suffering.
It goes like this:
"I am not the body
I am free,
for I am still
as God created me."
In a poetic sense, the line break on still/ is important, as it is in the space between that thought and the next one, that stillnesss actually becomes possible. And with stillness, no suffering.
