Oh--you mean ambergris! B It makes a lot of people sick, like civet cat. Surely, if it's synthetic though, it would not react the same way to all the things people want to mix into perfumes. On the other hand, you'd be doing the whales a service. They don't need the money. They prefer to keep their bodies. And we need the whales, since they anchor light into this planet. So your ambergris (or maybe ambergree)sounds very green.

That's fascinating too about the gold--but it just makes good plain sense. There's a potential story -or a movie, in there- (I guess L.V. sort of rubs off on you) about turning some of the villains (aka global elite) into a form of bacteria that would *accept* 'plating', and thereby forming some very worthwhile nuggets. Seel them all off to the highest bidder. What a caper. screenplay, perhaps? :-)

The giant mantle 'diamond' sounds a mite tacky, but sort of Twin Peaks too. Colour is everything. I like the colour of burmese rubies.
