My Iodine Update
Hi there fellow iodiners!!!
Just an update, as I love when other people give their trails to health.
I have been supplementing since last fall. Health problems at the time:
* 41 year old female
* History of
Breast Cancer in family and was diagnosed with DCIS 12 years previous.
* Major bad periods.....bad cramping whole life
* Painful breasts
* Anxiety at times
* Constipation
* Anemic
* Low magnesium levels
* Recent blood work at the time said low thyroid
Been a Curezone fan for years and started with the ML protocol. Felt good at first but didn't last all that long.
Posted the question on the ML forum as to why my breast hurt so much and was directed over to
Iodine forum.
* Started out doing
SSKI and magnescent.
* Recently switched to
Lugol's to kick the painful breast and possible fibroid issue.
* Noticed improvement with period right away.
* Major detox problems from the get-go, which was expected as I had DCIS and the concensus is detox will take years if you have
Breast Cancer issues.
* Burning eyes, back aches, tired, mood swings, metal taste, swollen saliva glands, lump in throat feeling.
Conclusion: DETOX COMES IN WAVES FOR SURE!!
There are times when I feel like the best I felt in years, then there are times I feel like complete crap.
I am taking:
* 3000 mg. Vitamin C
* 200 selenium
* Magnesium malate
* B-complex
* milk thistle
* Salt load
* Walk 1/2 hr. every day and do light weights. Need to start rebounding again.
I must say my periods are so much better. 28 days (used to come in 23-24 days. 3-4 days start to finish (used to be 10). Overall mood is 80% better. I still tend to worry from time to time (not sure what is off when I feel worried). Anemia still seems to be an issue. I am not sure if this is from the
Iodine or periods but my periods are really not that heavy. I had this issue with anemia last year and it got better. I question what causes it to go low again. I read my body very well and I know I am anemic again. Any input on this?? Right now my tongue feels weird and I am craving ice so I know I am anemic again so I think I will take some iron for a few weeks. Also, I have that lump in throat feeling. I saw on the Stopthethyroidmadness website that anemia and hypo go hand in hand so I am wondering if this is just a temporary "Hypo phase".
The good is outweighing the bad and with my
Breast Cancer history I will never give up my iodine. Overall things are getting better and better. Just finding this quest for health a long and rocky journey that I am sure will pay off in the end.
Thanks for listening....IODINE ROCKS!!!
