Re: Bowel movement after breaking the fast

Hey everyone.. I have a few quick questions.. I was wondering after a fast such as mine of 10 days what should I expect in bowel movement if I will be juicing?.. Are my BMs gonna be a while or right after I take the juice?

Hi Catch22,

It really could go either way. I have experienced bm activity about one short hour after breaking a long fast with juice and it could also possibly take up to 3 days or so. Best thing to keep in mind is that either is fine and your body has it all under control.

My plan is to do half and half orange juice with water and also Watermelon juice for 3 days when I do break.

Juice-only for 3 days after a 10 day fast sounds like a very careful plan which is good. I like to dilute with water only in the very early going (like the first hour or two maybe) then transition into pure juice. Out of curiousity, why limit yourself to just OJ and watermelon juice? There is much to be said for getting a well rounded influx of nutrients from a wide array of vegetable and fruit juices.

Are you finished with your 10 days or just getting very close? :)
