Re: Wanting to smile again
There are MANY things she can do for the infections:
1) oil pulling -- Go to the oil pulling forum to read up on it. I'm not sure which oil would be recommended for abcesses, but I think that coconut oil with some tea tree or oregano oil would be good.

2) packing gumlines with clay. Perry Aldridge, has a yahoo group (about clay). Join and post your situation
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/aboutclay/
and a website
http://www.livingclayco.com/
that sells food grade purified clay. Clay is good for drawing out infections. She recommends packing the gumlines with clay at night before going to bed so the clay has a chance to work overnight.
3) There are many herbs that have antibacterial properties: neem and oregano oil are my two favs. Uniquity at the Natural Healing forum here will have some good advice here too.
4) Waterpicking with iodine. Swansons vitamins sells 2oz of 2%
Lugols for $11+s&h. Put a couple dropperfuls of the
Lugols in the water reservoir and irrigate the gums a couple times a day. Ingesting the
Iodine would be good too.
If the infection is deep, it will take time, but consistent oil pulling, clay packing, waterpicking and ingesting oregano oil, neem and other anti-infective herbs should work.
