Thanks for your interest in the bacteria question. I am really interested in that and want to look into it and figure it out! I am kind of interested in the garlic question, too. It sounds like you feel better without it? Or is it sort of the same?
I think garlic is an antifungal. This would mean it would kill yeast overgrowth, which is one of the things that causes bloating/rumbling. But I know garlic contains sugars, too, and I get the feeling it feeds my unhelpful bacteria because I have used garlic a lot and my bacteria are probably immune to its antibacterial agents but, I don't know, almost feed on the sugar? And too many bacteria also cause bloating. It's complicated. I feel that a good solution is to really concentrate on obeying my body if my body says "no, that is not going to feel good..."
Anyway, great job, again. I am glad your heart is better.
