Re: Looking in the wrong place
"The truth is the truth for everyone. The people who have the truth have the truth. The people who do not have the truth are deceived."
Ahh, this is where we differ, I don't believe there is an absolute truth, what is true for one may not be true for another. It is arrogance to think that what you personally believe is the absolute truth for everyone, when it is really only truth to you, and those that share your view.
You may be convinced you have the 'truth', but so are muslims, buddhists, pagans, hindus etc etc etc. You can't all be right, and its possible you might all be wrong. What you can know is what is true for you is right for you, thats all.
As for my reason for posting here on this forum, I have explained this many times, I am interested in the views of others, and in christianity, at this point in time. I am here to learn, (this does not mean I want to join your belief system), and as I have said before, I am learning a great deal about christianity.
It is possible to learn, for the sake of gaining knowledge, without necessarily having a goal or mission in mind, other than the goal of learning.
