It is easier to gain/preserve muscle when animal based amino acids are part of the diet. I'll skip the theories and just say that this is from my own experience from many different diets and levels of exercise over decades of experimentation. Amino acids, cholesterol, fat and B12 just to name a few are very important for brain health. Low cholesterol levels are associated with depression.

Can you eat raw egg yolks? If you can find a more nutritious food let me know...
