Re: Women and christianity.
I agree Hunter, For my friend it has been a long and dangerous road to take, to attain her freedom. For many women in her country the religious laws and customs mean that women who fight the system often end up dead. She did not want to become a martyr for the cause, she wanted to change the system, and for her she had to get herself out of danger to do this, by leaving her country, her family and her friends.
Her view of god is not the christian bible god character, (the male character), that expects women to submit to the will of men. Her view of god is very similar to my view of universal energy. Universal energy does not have opinions on who is better or lesser, we are all just human beings made of the same energy. The only submitting to be done, is the submission of the individual to your own good concience.
It is a many faceted problem, the inequality of women, in the material and spiritual world. It is important to discuss the topic, and your ideas are good and valid.
