Re: Slip sliding away? EDITED

Inner Calm,

Paul's devotion to Jesus was called "the way".....

A Roman official was talking to Paul about Paul's devotion to Jesus...

Acts 24:22
"But, Felix, having a rather accurate knowledge of THE WAY....".

..."the Way" is mentioned a few times in Acts as being the devotion to Jesus.

John 14:6...."I am THE WAY....".

Ancient societies were pagan and having idols in the house (pagan worship statues) was the norm. Ancient societies also considered having indentured slaves in the home as THE NORM. Ancient "citizens" also worshipped ALL 'statesman' (politicians) as gods. Ancient societies were UNCIVILIZED PAGANS. Paul explained to them the benefits of knowing the "messiah" that the Jews/Hebrews SHOULD have been WAITING for....(instead of WAITING for the promised Messiah, the Jews were preoccupied with making devotion a business by selling sacrifices)......so far, it would be illogical to imagine that there's any Godly devotional sincerity at all in ancient cultures (that's right!...NONE).

How many do you think REALLY shed their old beliefs, practices, and habits? Paul often addressed that in his letters.

Unlike the Pharisees, King David did not WAIT for the promised Messiah, David chose to be INSIDE the body of the promised Messiah (God's promise is as good as DONE). David said that THE FATHER said to DAVID'S lord (the Messiah) "Sit at my right hand"

David was an inner temple and belonged to the OUTER TEMPLE (Jesus, John 2:19, 21 and 1 Corinthians 3:16).

God never needed a NEW DELUXE NAME for devotion to Him, but it seems that all the pagans got together in Antioch and chose a MORE ACCEPTABLE "messiah" type name(Romanized)....

Acts 11:26
"and in Antioch, the disciples were first called Christians".

Jesus never used the word "christian". He always spoke of people being "IN CHRIST"....

...and young inexperienced 'christians" still think in ungodly ways (they are NOT YET fully mature)...

"but as men of the FLESH, as babes in Christ".

The only two uses of the word "christian" in the RSV shows that Paul had to endure this Roman mockery of true devotion....

There is only one use of the PLURAL word "christianS".

Before the fall in the Garden of Eden (I don't see any actual harm if you prefer to believe it's a myth, people just like to get upset about things), man was "in His image"/perfect. And if everything had gone right, 'in His image man' would have had many 'sons' (my understanding of what a "son of man" is). The term is NOT exclusive to Jesus, and in fact, Jesus DOES NOT say that He is "lord of the sabbath.

Real devotion is that we each are to be a "son of man". A "son of man" is a lord/ruler of the spiritual world (satan avoids me like the plague) and we are EVEN "lord of THE SABBATH"...(all three times in scripture, it does not say "JESUS")....

If you read my explanation about the crucifixion happening in a way that it resembled a depiction of humanity's resistance to truth and goodness, you can start to understand that God and 'natural man' (from before the fall) are INTEGRAL/ONE (in essence not separate SPIRITUALLY).

In my understanding, Leonardo DaVinci was very spiritual (extremely philosophical/spiritual) and envisioned "Universal Man" (aka "Vetruvian Man") as being the COMPLETE person that is similar to "I am who I am" (The Father's "forever" name, Exodus 3:14 and 15).

God teaches strength and courage, NOT fear.

2 Timothy 1:7
"for God did not give us a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power and love and self-control".

If God had not given us self control, we could accidentally be carelessly reckless.

We have not noticed, but....

Psalm 82:6
"I say, "You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you".

In my experience, aetheists are very righteous but usually don't believe in righteousness (same with a seahorse, never leaves the water, so it doesn't believe there is an ocean).

Aetheists tend to be "good and right and true" (Ephesians 5:9) and be a law to their conscience (this is what God wants for all of us)....

Romans 2:14
"When Gentiles who have not the law do by nature what the law requires, they are a law to themselves....".

However, I do believe that aetheists in the civilized world, since they are able to know the savior more closely (because they have access to Godly information) have a duty to ACCEPT/acknowledge the savior, some people in the world don't have access to information (and therefore will not be held responsible).

The "TRUE worshipper" (John 4:23) will USUALLY be a "backslider" (failure at "christianity").
