I've also tried to make sense of the "giants" in Genesis (types of dinosaurs?) and the "men of renown" (these two descriptions seem so different).....didn't get very far....no matter!

The giants came BEFORE the self proclaimed "sons of God".....(these were not the "son of MAN", and they were not GOD PROCLAIMED/appointed sons of GOD,......WE ARE "GOD APPOINTED" SONS).

The "daughters of men" (the "flesh" man...or the GODLY man?).

The "son of man" was man "in His image" in the Garden of Eden before the fall. The "daughters of MEN" likely refers to MAN AFTER THE FALL (fleshly man....the same as the "old man" of the flesh that we must shed/repent from).

Genesis 6:4...KJV says "giants", RSV says "Nephilim"...

"There were GIANTS in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the SONS OF GOD came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare [children] to them, the same [became] mighty men which [were] of old, men of renown".

The KJV translators are ADDING the words "children" and "became" (the RSV also ADDS those words, maybe they weren't translated properly??). The original 1611 version of the KJV might provide a better explanation (today's KJV is not from original manuscripts, the 1611 is more accurate and valid to the actual truth of scripture).

The "men of renown" don't seem to have a great spiritual reputation if they are going to stand "against" Moses and Aaron, but they seem to do a good job of infiltrating the congregation undetected.

Remember, satan was rebellious and many angels (bastard/illegitimate "sons of God") followed satan. Those fallen angels (no longer "neither male nor female") came in to the "daughters of men" and had children/offspring that became known as the "men of renown".

Numbers 16:2 and 3
"famous in the congregation, men of renown"...."And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron".

The "men of renown" might be the ancient forerunners of today's cults and secret societies (some Masons believe that Nimrod was the first Mason, maybe Nimrod was one of those men of "renown"/fame??).
