Re: I Can't Wait To Get To Heaven...EDITED
Doc10,
Okay, now I know what you are referring to as "lighter body".
About two years ago, I took a brief look online at the "Book of Enoch". Some scholars claim that it was part of first century scripture. Which "books"/writings should be included as devotional scripture has never been universally agreed upon. You'll notice that Catholic scripture has some additional books (the book of Thomas, etc.). There are likely many holy writings that we never heard of and we simply don't know enough to say that they are not valid at all. If you've ever wondered about the meaning of "third heaven" in 2 Corin., the Book of Enoch might be able to offer some explanation.
2 Corinthians 12:2
"I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven--whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows".
Scripture doesn't always explain itself, not that it's NECESSARY, but I think that "understanding" is always a noble quest/goal.....(Proverbs-get understanding).
John 14:2
"In my Father's house are many rooms".
The Lord says we are being prepared for "AN INHERITANCE" (doesn't seem very specific as to which "REWARD" is meant for each of us).
Many times in scripture, the word "reward" is mentioned, but also there is a "FULL reward"....
2 John 1:8
"but may win a full reward".
So, where that "lighter body" will be (the new heaven or the new earth), can only be speculated/guessed (most definitely in the city of God with the 24 elders).
...but, I do believe that the present/inner heaven must exist before we get to the NEW heaven.
LONG POSTS? You've noticed. I've been posting at Curezone for 10 years (almost always short, concise posts), but recently I've noticed the same as you have. I'm glad you pointed that out. I was thinking about that and maybe now I'll be more aware of it (very uncharacteristic of me to write long posts....maybe I'm going mad). Thanks for pointing that out (I think God put you up to it...Praise Jesus).
Acts 26:24
"Paul, you are mad; your great learning is turning you mad".
