My husband and I used condoms successfully for about 20 years before I was persuaded that the Mirena would be perfect for contraception,to deal with heavy periods and as I was heading towards the menopause. After suffering dreadfully with the Mirena for almost three years I finally had it removed in December and we're back to the condoms again.Wish I'd stayed with them all along!
