That's OK, I am not an electronics person either but I still managed to figure it out. Although it took years of experimentation before I finally figured out the key, which was a dielectric between the electrodes. My first unit actually did not have any dielectrics, but it took really careful adjustments to make it work properly.

No, you should not have to solder anything.
How is the transformer connected to the rest of it, by a convenient cord (lol cant be that easy can it) or what?
Actually that is pretty much it, although it may vary slightly depending on how they are running their power. On mine I run the power cord directly to the input on the transformer and the two output wires go to the discharge tube. Can't get any simpler than that.

Not really, but plastic is easier to use. If you use metal then make sure to insulate the wires really well to prevent the high voltage wires from arcing against the metal case. I generally insulate the wires regardless by putting vinyl tubing around the high voltage wires and electrical tape the ends.

It may fit. It depends on the case and the size of the transformer. Many of the 7,500 volt and 9,000 volt transformers are relatively small. Not as small as the solid state transformers though.
and the car ignition coil, pig transformer, etc, how are these different than the solid state transformers as far as one producing NOX and others not?
The car ignition coils and the pig iron transformers will both operate at 60hz. The solid state transformers operate up around 28,000hz. The higher frequency drops the resistance of the dielectrics so it is more like no or only one dielectric is present. So these transformers makes the tube act more like a hot corona tube as opposed to a cold corona tube.
also, once the project is completed (wishful thinking) how would i test it to be absolutely ultra positively sure it was cold corona and not producing any bad stuff, do you have any starch paper tests for that kind of thing (:
Actually I have used test strops for this purpose. The easiest way is to take a glass of water and get a pH reading. Then bubble the ozone in the water with a diffuser for 15 minutes and check it again with the pH strips to see if the water has turned acidic.
edit: im going to try the magnet thing as I am ACHING like crazy from a 13 hour shift nonstop moving/lifting. What's the closest most convenient spot for a small powerful magnet to be placed? the wrist? I was told blood goes through your entire body every six minutes so it shouldnt matter where I put the magnet because all of my blood will be exposed to it every 6 minutes right? Just need to find a place on my body where the blood vein/artery is closest to the surface with thickest blood, speaking of which, should i put it next to an artery or vein lol. im really clueless but would it matter?
People generally place the magnets in the area of the pain. You have blood running all though the body including the tiny capillaries found throughout the body.

will that work (30,000 volts enough??) for the cold corona ozonatorr!? just wondering since the cop transformer *cough* i mean pig transformer is hard to find.
The minimum requirement is around 4,000 volts. Although my 4KV transformer will not power the majority of my tubes. I have it hooked up to a prototype design right now, which is the only one it works on. I normally go with 9KV transformers. But yes, the 30KV will work.

That looks like a pretty interesting one. And it does not weigh much. But I know there is more involved that just voltage. Amperage also plays a role. I have fooled with small high voltage ignition transformers. They are very high voltage, but have no real power behind them. So you would have to ask someone that knows electronics about these. Those would be nice though if they worked.

Neon transformers definitely work. But that is a big and very heavy transformer. You definitely would not fit that in your case.

Ed McCabe had a site that compiled a bunch of ozone research but I don't know the current site address. I believe the address changed a few years back. But it should be easy to find on a search using "McCabe" and "ozone" as search terms.

No, the difference used to be whether there was one or two dielectrics. One was a hot and tow was cold. But when you through in a high frequency transformer that all changes as I explained above.
so a 50hz transformer would work even better than a 60hz yes?
It will not matter. The difference is when you get in to ultra high frequencies of solid state transformers.

The minimum I have had success with is 6,000v 30ma. Although I prefer 9,000v 30ma since this is a nice balance between power and size.

Pretty much. But again you have to factor in amperage and tube design as well as flow rate of the gas. The higher the voltage with the same amperage, the longer the tube and the slower the gas flow rate are all factors that increase ozone concentration. Although higher is not always better. Again it depends on use and how it is applied. For internal use the tubes I build only have 4 inches of active corona powered by 9,000v 30ma with a flow rate of 1/10lpm oxygen through a cold corona design.

Somewhat. There is no significant difference between 50 and 60hz. But I have literally fried a lot of tubes with a 6,000v solid state transformer operating at 28,000hz. These are the same tubes that work perfectly at even 9,000v but at 60hz.
so a person would need different ozone machines for different things like, one ozone machine that was very very fast but also produced the NOX stuff so they could ozonate a glass of water in say 1 minute instead of 10 thus diminishing the ozone effect, but would need a much slower and purer ozonation for things like rectal insufflation?
Or you can get an ozone unit with a voltage regulator that allows you to adjust the ozone output by varying the voltage.
