The Schulze's #1 formula is for retraining the colon musculature called peristalsis. It has some laxative properties (cascara segrada) as well as colon healing properties of the red pepper. The barberry is good for the colon and liver. Same thing with LBB. Why would you do an enema when both these preps are for moving the bolus of food along in the intestines? I would just add more capsules of each to bowel tolerance, whichever one I was using. The colon will work better as it gets cleaned out. Both the #1 and #2 formulas are necessary, IMO. That's when you are cleaning out the colon.
If you're just wanting the bowels to move as you're doing the liver flushes BEFORE you can do a colon cleanse, then use more capsules of the Schulze #1 or the LBB. Schulze has said some people needed 40 capsules at a time to make them "go". If you're having constipation problems, then just do more of the #1 capsules or more of the LBB capsules at a time.
