You have a corrupted version of scripture, bewnyfur. Many of today's versions have been watered down, made to be politically correct, and been made so that nobody gets upset by reading anything harsh (nobody wants to see 'their natural face in the mirror).

Publishers have been watering down scripture so that it reads like a nice 'fairy tale' so they can sell more at the bookstore (and the pastors don't warn anyone as long as you fill their collection plate).

There are many discrepancies in today's bibles....missing verses (from verse 29 to 31), misleading words and phrases, and deleted words like "Jesus" and "sin", etc.

Not just the NIV, but many versions are corrupt.

The KJV has the Jews celebrating "EASTER" instead of PASSOVER because the KJV was made for the Church of England.

No doubt, you wish to stay with your bible (what can I say?), it is your choice.
