Re: green or red formulas
I see a lot of common formulating mistakes in this formula.
First of all they have a lot of high tannin content herbs and fruits in their product. These tannins are great as antioxidants, but they also have a major drawback. They bind with many beneficial compounds including alkaloids and glycosides making them useless to the body. This is the most common mistake I see in formulating.
In direct contact with the probiotics these tannins will likely also kill the beneficial bacteria.
The second mistake I see is that they are including digestive enzymes that can digest the beneficial bacteria.
Furthermore they put fibers in the product, which would normally feed the flora. But they also added cellulase, which will digest these fibers in to simple sugars long before they would ever get a chance to reach and feed the flora. The cellulase will merely create simple sugars that will add more calories, increase blood sugar levels and feed Candida.
The amylase will also digest the starches in the herbs creating even more sugars.
They were on the right track and they did choose some beneficial herbs, but whoever designed it failed to take in to account the chemistry and interactions of what they were blending. So it is not something I personally would ever think about using.
I feel you would be better off with the targeted herbs than a product like this.
