neck and shoulder pain, get MRI? stringy white nose 'buggers' brought me here...

I'm dealing with new, horrendous neck pains.....almost went to ER. Then put it off; got some body work/ energy work.....still considering MRI--neck/shoulders hot and swollen. Was researching here the MRI idea, and ended up on parasite site--curious BECAUSE after energy work on my sinus, under eye, and with use of neti pot--after some 'sour' cashews....whatever--stringy white bugger--two of them, one yesterday morning, one this morning. I thought them odd, dismissed the idea they were stringy 'worms', now I'm wondering.  Ought I still pay for at least a cervical MRI?  My neck literally freaked out on Wednesday with sharp pains, unlike I have ever felt. Now it runs hot, and nervous. Suggestions? Were the two stringy's (they didn't break when I pulled on them) parasites and could that be causing pain in neck, shoulder, arms?
