Re: damaged heart, planned fast to completion.

5.3 days now. So near to the first 7 days. Smile

Embracing the fasting symptoms which include feeling a little weak and having keto mouth. Last nite at bedtime i was feeling a minor aching in the backs of my upper legs. That's a new one for me. It's gone for now but i suspect i haven't seen the last of it. But on the positive side i am walking in an immense state of calm. Well all of it is positive to me since it all signifies that good things are happening.

Even if i decided i wanted to eat (which i almost certainly wouldn't anyway though the strong temptation is never far away), the seriousness of my heart condition is keeping me in the game, virtually assuring my cooperation until completion is achieved. My laying down relaxing heartrate would normally be about 40 at this stage in a fast, but it is now 60-63.

*****************************************************************************************

6.75 days now and the fast continues to go well.

Convinced of thirst, i just drank the first water in about 16 hours, so far 2 cups worth, and wow, that's really a special treat Smile.  Yesterday for whatever reason, i was thirsty enough to drink 6 cups which was quite unexpected and is more than in any previous day where 2-4 cups satisfied thirst each time.

I was wrong... the upper rear leg aches haven't returned. Now i predict i'll not likely see them again. Wink

I noticed a fairly substantial change in my heart in the past 24 hours... until which time there was discomfort in and surrounding my heart whenever i tried to sleep on either side (i was able only to sleep on my back). Thus as of about 24 hours ago, the heart and the sore muscles around my heart, sore for the past 6 weeks are no longer sore.

Truly i recognize these developments as minor breakthroughs and i know my heart still has a long way to go in the path to healing. I just welcome and enjoy the little victories along the way. Thankfully time is on my side since i intend to fast until the return of genuine hunger, which in a resting fast as this one could end up being 30 or even 40 days. When i say resting fast, I am differentiating between the previous fast to completion in which i brisk walked 2 hours per day and encountered true hunger after 29 days and 16 hours... (then nearly went insane fighting this hunger for 8 hours to reach a nice round 30 days Tongue out ).

A resting fast will better conserve the internal reserves, so assuming my reserves are comparable to what they were in the previous fast, they should last longer than 30 days. On the other hand, my heart rate is running wild and is likely a bigger factor than 2 hours of walking, so perhaps i will run out sooner Smile. On the third hand, if somehow i am able to fast to the elimination of all toxemia and the completion of all healing before the reserves deplete, there is no telling when that would be. In any case, i'm really not expecting it to be any less than 30 days based on the severity of my heart injury.

My heart rate is still considerably faster than it should be, i'm going to say about 20-25 beats per minute faster, whether standing, sitting or lying down. My heart rate monitor will be useful throughout the fast as this is something i intend to track. I am not a Heart specialist, but i suspect that the fast heart rate is one key piece of tangible evidence that my heart is still not healthy... and that the heart rate issue is a much more substantial challenge to overcome than the soreness.

Once my heart rate has returned to normal, something i am pretty optimistic to see by the end of this this fast, i expect my heart to be healed or very nearly so... at which point i look forward to nourishing it in every way i have been taught by Chrisb1.   Then i will get it checked out by someone who actually is a heart specialist Laughing.

Since the 32nd hour bm, there has been no bowel activity. Looking forward to whatever surprises my bowels have in store for me and i have no intention of doing any kind of enema throughout the journey, trusting that my bowels will release when the time is right.

Hey, more good news.  I estimate about 2.5-3 pounds of fat has been burned as fuel in this time. Wink
